Dr. Jim Der | DMD - 35 Years
Dr. Jim Der is a 1983 Graduate of the University of British Columbia. He is married with two children, a son and a daughter.
Dr. Der has been serving the Tri-Cities area for over 20 years and serving the dental needs of the Coquitlam area since 1985.
Dr. Der practices general dentistry with an emphasis on cosmetic dentistry, complex crowns and bridges, Invisalign®, and endodontics.
He is committed to improving his knowledge and skills through continuing education.
Dr. Dion Li

Dr. Li was born and raised in Vancouver.
He completed his undergraduate in Biochemistry at the University of British Columbia, then went on to obtain his dental degree at the University of British Columbia.
Dr. Li was drawn to dentistry as it allows him to connect with patients and help those in the community.
Dr. Li, with his compassionate and welcoming demeanor, strives to make dental appointments as comfortable as possible and have patients leave with a positive experience.
Dr. Tracie Tanaka

Dr. Tracie Tanaka | DMD
Dr. Tracie Tanaka was born and raised in Vancouver, BC. She attended the University of British Columbia where she completed her undergraduate degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences, followed by a degree in Dental Medicine.
Dr. Tanaka enjoys practicing all aspects of general dentistry, including pediatrics, restorative dentistry, cosmetic enhancements, as well as surgical extractions and wisdom teeth removal. A firm believer in patient autonomy, Dr. Tanaka aims to provide her patients with the necessary knowledge and understanding to make informed decisions about their oral health. As Dr. Tanaka believes that trust is the cornerstone of every positive dental experience, she strives to ensure that her patients feel safe, comfortable and supported throughout their appointments. Dr. Tanaka is also passionate about global dental outreach, having participated in dental volunteer missions in Vietnam to provide care to children and families with minimal access to basic dentistry. A self described lifelong learner, Dr. Tanaka is committed to staying up to date on the latest dental innovations and treatments. Dr. Tanaka is a member of good standing with the British Columbia College of Oral Health Professionals (BCCOHP). She is also certified in Invisalign and neuromodulator injections (Botox/Dysport).
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Tanaka’s other passions include gardening, baking, painting, portraiture, and petting dogs. Dr. Tanaka is excited to be joining the team at Northgate Dental, and is looking forward to taking care of you and your family!
